Search Engine Optimization (SEO) content writing is a complex and ever-changing field that can yield short or long-term gains. As a a copywriter for Express, staying up-to-date on important keywords and utilizing them liberally (but just enough) was constantly within my purview.
When it comes to web content, I believe that good writing always comes first. But awareness of the ins and outs of SEO is clearly an essential skill for writers in today’s marketplace. While I do have experience writing mind-bending footer copy that is specifically designed to lure search engines, I prefer an approach to web writing that honors the message first, but remains mindful of the keywords that are necessary to keep the content on the map.
