German Village/Merion Village
Try and blame that smell on the beer making or pizza
Or the revelers that consume them
But it has been here since the time of Dickens and the White Plague
And it has never been pleasant
The stench of political decisions
Once made over thick cuts of steak and cigars
Has been covered over with the wafting scent of Panini sandwiches being grilled
This is a good place to find a lawyer, handcrafted brew, a man who will tell you that he ran out of gas
Or a restaurant-grade whisk
